I have recently become involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program and committed to compete in the St. Anthony’s Triathlon on April 27, 2003. I will be competing in the triathlon in memory of my cousin Jennifer Otto Davis who after a decade long battle, triumphed over cancer by surrendering to the will of God and lifted her hands toward Heaven, on October 7 2002 at the age of just 32.

As a member of Team in Training, I have made a commitment to train and finish this Olympic distance triathlon, (.9 mile swim / 24.8 mile bike / 6.2 mile run) in Jennifer’s memory My personal challenge is to raise $4,500 for the Luekemia & Lymphoma Society by March 28, 2003 with a minimum of 75% of the funds I raise through sponsorship going directly towards research.

I ask that you consider giving generously by sponsoring me in the St. Anthony’s Triathlon. While any amount you donate will be greatly appreciated, it may be easier to contribute a specific amount, keeping these facts in mind:

$25 could pay for the cost of a patient’s chemotherapy drug prescription co-payment.
$50 could register one person to be a bone marrow donor.
$75 could provide HLA (bone marrow) typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia
$100 could provide a patient with traveling costs from regional areas to Emory University Hospital
$750 could provide patient aide to a person with leukemia or related cancer for a year.

DID YOU KNOW:

*Every five minutes, someone in the United States learns that he or she has leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's diseaseor myloma

*Every nine minutes, another child or adult is expected to die from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma
